## Prerequisites - Administrator-level access is required to edit user groups. ## Setting or Editing Access Permissions To create a new User Group or update User Group access follow the steps below: 1. Go to Administration 2. Click on **User Groups** 3. To update a User Group **click on the Group name** from the list 4. Click the **Edit group** button 5. Enable or disable access in the **User access, Admin access, or Administration panel** you would like this Group to have access to ![[Edit_Group_-_CondoGenie.jpg]] 6. Click the **Save** button at the bottom ## Permission Descriptions **Owners/Residents will be able to  Edit or Delete their own content only by default.** **Create** - create give the user access to create, upload or add content **View**  - view gives users access to view or access the content **Edit**  - edit gives users access to edit the posted content **Delete**  - delete gives users access to delete the posted content ## Resetting Group Permissions Default CondoGenie groups come with set permissions in the system. If you would like to reset a User Group to its default settings and permissions click the **Reset to defaults link** ![[Edit_Group_-_CondoGenie-2.jpg]] ## Example To restrict the **Owners** group from viewing documents: 1. Click the **settings icon** ![[gear.png|26]] on the Owners group. 2. Click **Edit**. 3. Uncheck the **View** permission checkbox. 4. Save your changes. ## Important Notes - Permission changes apply immediately to all members of the group. - Default groups (Administrators, Owners, etc.) can be edited just like custom groups.
