## Prerequisites
- Administrator-level access is required to delete user groups.
- Consider reassigning members to another group before deletion if they still need access to certain features.
## Step-by-Step: Delete a User Group
1. Go to **Administration > User Groups** .
2. Locate the group you want to delete.
3. Click the **settings icon** ![[gear.png|26]]next to the group.
4. Select the **Delete** option.
5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
## Important Notes
- Deleting a group removes the group's permission set — users in that group will lose any access that was granted exclusively through it.
- Users themselves are **not** deleted; only their membership in the removed group is.
- Default system groups may not be deletable depending on your configuration.
> **Warning:** Deletion may be permanent. Review group membership and dependencies before proceeding.
