This guide explains how to **edit an existing Task** to update any of its details — including category, project, building/unit assignment, due date, recurring schedule, and description. For a feature overview, see [[Tasks Overview]] --- ## Prerequisites - You must be part of a [[User Groups Overview|User Group]] that has access to manage Tasks --- To edit a Task follow the steps below: 1. Click on the **settings** icon on Tasks main page ![[Tasks_-_CondoGenie-2 1.jpg]] or click on the **settings** icon when viewing a Task ![[Task_-_CondoGenie 1.jpg]] 2. Click on the **Edit** option ![[Task_-_CondoGenie-2 1.jpg|279]] 3. Update all the required fields 4. Click the **Save** button The task is updated immediately. When you reopen the task, the new details are reflected — for example, if you removed the project association, the project will no longer be listed on the task page. --- ## Common Editing Tasks - **Reassign a task from a project to a building** — Remove the project, then select a building (and optionally a unit). - **Change the due date** — Edit the date so the task moves to the correct position in the due-date-sorted list. - **Switch the responsible team** — Change the **Task Category** so the new category's responsible users are notified. - **Convert a one-time task into recurring** — Add a recurring schedule with a start and end date.
