# Completing Tasks This guide explains how to **mark a Task as completed** from either the Tasks list or from inside an open task. Completed tasks are removed from the default (Open) view and can be retrieved using the **Completed** filter. For a feature overview, see [Tasks Overview](Tasks%20Overview.md). --- ## Prerequisites - You must be part of a [[User Groups Overview|User Group]] that has access to manage Tasks - The task is currently open (not yet completed). --- ## Method 1 — Complete from the Tasks List 1. Open the **Tasks** page. 2. Locate the task you want to complete. 3. Click the **settings icon** next to the task in the list. ![[Tasks_-_CondoGenie-2.jpg]] 4. Click the **subject** of the task to open it. 3. Click the **settings icon** in the top right-hand corner of the task page. ![[Task_-_CondoGenie.jpg]] 1. Click **Complete**. 2. Enter any final details. 3. Click **Save**. The task is marked as completed. --- ## Viewing Completed Tasks 1. Open the **Tasks** page. 2. Click the filter and select **Completed**. The Completed view lists all finished tasks, including the total **time spent** on each one (for example, *4 hours and 15 minutes*). This is the same time data used by [Task Reports](Generating%20Task%20Reports.md). --- ## Tips - **Log final time before completing.** Adding the last time entry (or final comment) before clicking Complete ensures the total time spent is accurate. See [Adding Comments and Logging Time on Tasks](Adding%20Comments%20and%20Logging%20Time%20on%20Tasks.md). - **Add a closing comment.** A short summary of the resolution helps when reviewing completed tasks later. - **Reopen if needed.** Use the **Completed** filter to find a finished task if you need to refer back to its history. ---
