The **Projects** feature is used to **group related tasks together** under a single named initiative — for example, *Lobby Renovation*, *Roof Replacement*, or *Annual Audit*. Once a Project exists, any new [[Tasks Overview|Task]] can be assigned to it, making it easy to see all the work belonging to that initiative in one place. --- Projects let administrators organize work that spans many tasks. Instead of hunting through the full task list, you click a Project to see every task assigned to it. From the Projects area you can: - View the list of existing Projects. - Open a Project to see all of its assigned tasks. - Create a new Project so it becomes available when [[Creating Tasks|creating]] or [[Edit a Task|editing]] tasks. --- ## Key Concepts | Term | Definition | | ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Project** | A named container used to group related tasks under a common initiative. | | **Project Description** | A short text explaining the purpose or scope of the Project. | | **Assigned Task** | A [[Tasks Overview\|Task]] that has been linked to a Project at creation time or via editing. | --- ## Prerequisites - You must be part of a [[User Groups Overview|User Group]] that has access to manage Projects - (Optional) Existing tasks that you plan to assign to the Project. To create tasks, see [[Creating Tasks]]. --- ## Viewing a Project's Tasks 1. Go to **Administration**. 2. Click on **Projects**. 3. Click the name of a Project (for example, *Lobby Renovation*). 4. The page lists every task that has been assigned to that Project. This view gives a single, focused snapshot of all work tied to one initiative. --- ## Available Actions - [[Creating Projects]] — Add a new Project so tasks can be assigned to it. --- ## Common Use Cases - **Lobby Renovation** — Group every task related to the lobby refresh: design approval, RFPs, contractor selection, scheduling, inspections. - **Roof Replacement** — Group quotes, board approvals, contractor coordination, and post-completion inspections. - **Annual Audit** — Group document collection tasks, auditor coordination, and follow-up items. - **Onboarding a new property** — Group all setup tasks under a single Project for easy progress tracking. --- ## Additional Notes - A task does **not** need to belong to a Project — Project assignment is optional. - Project assignments can be **changed** or **removed** later by [[Edit a Task|Editing a Task]] - For a broader picture of how tasks, categories, and assignments work together, see [[Tasks Overview]] and [[Task Categories Overview]].
