The Parking feature allows property administrators, owners, and visitors to reserve and manage visitor parking stalls within a property. Reservations can be created through the application or by scanning a QR code posted near the parking area. Administrators have full control over booking rules, approval workflows, time limits, and parking stall inventory through the global settings panel.
## Key Concepts
- **Reservation** — A booking that assigns a specific parking stall to a visitor or vendor for a defined date and time range.
- **Parking Stall (Spot)** — An individual parking space that can be reserved. Stalls are created and managed by administrators.
- **Visitor** — A guest visiting a unit within the property.
- **Vendor** — A service provider visiting the property (e.g., contractor, delivery service).
- **QR Code Access** — A printable QR code that allows visitors and vendors to self-register a parking reservation without signing into CondoGenie.
- **Approval Workflow** — An optional setting that requires an administrator or designated user group to approve parking reservations before they become active.
## Prerequisites
- The Parking feature must be enabled by an administrator under `Administration > Global Settings > Parking`.
- To create a reservation through the app, the user must have the appropriate access permissions.
- For self-service reservations via QR code, the QR code must be printed and displayed in the parking area.
- If the **Owner Registration Only** setting is enabled, only property owners can register guest vehicles; visitor/vendor self-registration is disabled.
## Common Use Cases
- **Short-term visitor parking** — A resident registers a guest's vehicle for a few hours while they visit.
- **Vendor access** — A property manager reserves a stall for a contractor arriving the next day, using the advance booking feature.
- **Self-service guest parking** — A QR code is posted at the parking entrance, allowing visitors to scan and register their own vehicle upon arrival.
- **Controlled parking with approvals** — An administrator enables the approval workflow so that all reservations are reviewed before a stall is confirmed.
- **Limiting repeat visitors** — Frequency limits are set to prevent any single visitor from using guest parking more than a defined number of times per week or month.

- The QR code image can be saved and incorporated into custom signage or property communications.
- If no time limit is set for parking duration, visitors can park for an unlimited amount of time per reservation.
- Parking stalls can be associated with specific locations, which is helpful for properties that have multiple parking areas or buildings.
- The approval workflow and the designated approver user group can be changed at any time from the Parking settings page.
