This guide explains how to **send a Phone Broadcast Call** — an automated call that reads out your message to selected users — from the News page.
For a feature overview, see [[News Announcements Overview]]
---
## Prerequisites
- You must be part of a [[User Groups Overview|User Group]] that has access to manage news announcements.
---
## Steps to Send a Phone Broadcast Call
1. Open the **News** page.
2. Click the **Add Announcement** button.
3. Click the **Send a Broadcast Call** tab.
4. Type out your message — this is the script that will be read aloud to recipients.
5. Specify the **Buildings** that should receive the broadcast call.
6. Specify the **User Groups** that should receive the broadcast call (for example, **Owners** only for an AGM notice).
7. Click the **Send Phone Broadcast Call** button.
The system places automated calls to every user in the selected buildings and user groups, reading out the message to each recipient.
---
## Common Use Cases
- **AGM notice to owners** — Inform owners about an upcoming Annual General Meeting.
- **Emergency notification** — Reach residents quickly for urgent safety issues.
- **Important reminder** — Ballot deadlines, bylaw votes, or critical board communications.
---
## Best Practices
- **Write for the ear.** The message will be spoken aloud — write naturally and avoid abbreviations, complex punctuation, or symbols that don't read well.
- **State the source up front.** Begin with the building or property name so recipients understand who is calling.
- **Keep it focused.** One topic per call works best.
- **Target the right group.** Sending to the smallest appropriate audience (for example, **Owners** only for an AGM) avoids unnecessary calls.
- **Pair with other channels.** Combine with a [[News Announcements Overview|News Announcement]] so recipients can read full details after the call.
