The **Buildings** feature lets you organize your account into one or more physical buildings, each with its own prefix, address, and set of units. This is especially useful for condominiums made up of multiple structures, where units need to be grouped and managed separately. ## Purpose - Represent the physical layout of a condominium that has one or more buildings. - Group **Units** under the correct building. - Automatically generate units floor-by-floor when adding a new building. - Maintain building-level details such as prefix, address, postal/zip code, and floor count. ## Key Concepts - **Building**: A physical structure within the condominium that contains units. - **Prefix**: A short identifier for a building (for example, `A`, `B`, `North`) used to distinguish buildings and their units. - **Address / Postal or Zip Code**: Location details stored on each building. - **Floors**: The number of floors in the building, used to auto-generate units. - **Starting / Ending Unit**: Defines the unit number range per floor for automatic unit creation. - **Unit**: An individual residence or commercial space that belongs to a building. Units can be renamed or edited individually. ## Prerequisites - You must be part of a [[User Groups Overview|User Group]] that has access to manage buildings in your condominium. - Have your buildings' addresses, prefixes, floor counts, and unit numbering scheme ready before creating them. ## What You Can Do - [Create a Building](Create%20a%20Building.md) - [Edit a Building](Edit%20a%20Building.md) - [Update Units within a Building](./Updating%20Buildings.md) - [Delete a Building](Delete%20a%20Building.md) ## Common Use Cases - A condominium complex with multiple towers, each needing its own prefix and address. - A mixed-use property where residential and commercial units must be tracked separately (for example, a `Commercial 1` unit). - Buildings whose units don't follow a standard numerical pattern and need custom unit names. ## Additional Notes - When you auto-generate units by floor, you can still rename individual units afterward if they don't follow a strict numerical pattern. See [Updating Buildings](./Updating%20Buildings.md). - You can add multiple buildings in a single create session before saving. ## Related Articles - [Create a Building](Create%20a%20Building.md) - [Edit a Building](Edit%20a%20Building.md) - [Updating Buildings](./Updating%20Buildings.md) - [Delete a Building](Delete%20a%20Building.md)
